Deparement for Education Proformance Data & KS2 Results
We are delighted to be able to share our recent OFSTED report with you, published in May 2023. Click below to read it. https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/provider/21/119200 The inspectors confirmed what we already knew, Ashleigh continues to be a good school. The report gives us many reasons to be extremely proud of our children. It states that ‘pupils behave exceptionally well in lessons and around school. They are polite, well-mannered and welcoming to visitors. Pupils work very cooperatively together.’ It also highlights the high expectations staff set for learning, how well children achieve and that they are ‘well prepared for their next steps in education’. As I have said many times before, we are blessed to have wonderful children who are well supported by their parents. The opportunities our dedicated, talented staff are able to offer children are clear from the report. We all truly want the very best for our children. Whether that be academic, sporting, artistic or simply (but more importantly) just growing to be better human beings, more tolerant, caring and compassionate towards each other. We were delighted that this was all recognised by OFSTED. |

What do we need to do to be even better?
- A small number of pupils at an early stage of reading do not have sufficient time in school to practise their phonics by re-reading books with an adult. So we need to ensure that those pupils struggling to read with fluency benefit from even more regular practice by re-reading of books with an adult.
- In a small number of subjects, teachers do not plan enough opportunities for pupils to revisit and strengthen their previous learning. So we need to find more opportunities for this to happen.
